improve your wellbeing what is reflexology? Reflexology is a complementary therapy (a reflexologist doesnot diagnose, cure or prescribe medical conditions). It is the technique of applying gentle pressure to the reflexes on the feet to restore good health to the whole of a person. Many illnesses are often stress-related - reflexology brings about a state of deep relaxation in the mind and body. It helps to stimulate the body's own healing process and restore it to a state of balance and wellbeing. Reflexology is a natural treatment- no medication, just experienced hands on the pressure points of your feet. It is an holistic therapy - although the practioner only touches your feet you will feel benefits throughout your body. It improves emotional and mental wellbeing too. Reflexology can play a major role in preventative care - through stress-reduction and boosting your energy levels your sense of general wellbeing is greatly improved. It is frequently used as a regular treatment for acute and chronic conditions - reducing discomfort, tension and improving circulation. what is reiki? Reiki is a very simple process yet produces quite profound effects! It is non-invasive treatment: you lie on a couch, close your eyes and listen to gentle, soothing music whilst a practitioner gently rests their hands upon you, in a series of positions, from the crown of the head to the foot. You are fully clothed during the process. The general effect of Reiki is to make you feel more laid back, calmer, less stressed and more able to cope. Although it creates relaxation it also boosts energy levels and generally raises spirits, so you feel more positive about yourself and your approach to life. Most people will feel warmth or tingling as result. Some people fall asleep, many see coloured lights, or have the sensation of floating. Reiki can help to release emotional tension. It's not a miracle cure but over a series of between 4-6 sessions aspects of stress, tensions, anxiety, sleeplessness and emotional problems will dissipate. Physical ailments can take a little longer but this is certainly not always the case. These few treatment sessions produces longterm results. However, many customers come back, again and again, because they enjoy the sensations and their after-effects. ![]() Ann has a wonderfully soothing, gentle but firm technique, the end result gave me such a lift and boosted me both mentally and physically, I felt like I was walking on air - Liz T I have been coming to Ann on and off for a couple of years now to help with longstanding arthritic problems, and I cant praise her enough. I have had both Reiki and reflexology treatments, my favourite being Reiki which never fails to relax and refresh me. Ann is very professional, this coupled with her knack of making a person feel 'very special', makes these the best treatments I have had. Thanks Ann - Alison B I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxing the treatment was, being at first quite sceptical about this alternative therapy. I had read about reflexology as a good way of unwinding and helping in times of stress and to have your feet 'read' can be quite a revelation! Definitely a most welcome helping of the feel good factor - Lynda B Thank you Ann for helping me to relax and for having greatly improved my ability to sleep.
